School Meals and Uniform

School Uniform and PE Kit

Children are required to wear Navy Jumpers or Cardigans, the girls must wear either Navy trousers of skirts/pinafores and the boys must wear grey trousers/shorts.  During the summer term girls may prefer to wear a blue/white gingham summer dress.

White shirts and school ties must be worn by all children from Reception to Year 6.

School uniform is available to be purchased from the school.  Please see order form and price list under the Useful Information tab on this website.

Please could we ask that children have a warm coat with them during the cold weather, as they spend a lot of time outside and can get very cold, very quickly.

Also, may we ask that children with shoulder length hair or longer (girls and boys), come to school with their hair tied back please in either a ponytail or bunches.

PE kit must be kept in school ALL week, so that it is readily available for their lessons.

Please ensure that every item of your child’s uniform and PE kit is named. We try very hard to return ‘lost property’, but this becomes impossible if items are un-named. For your assistance we have information on suppliers of iron-on or sew-in labels. Please ask at the office for more information.

School Meals

Healthy school meals are cooked on the premises in our school kitchen.

The menu is currently on a three-week rolling programme, with a main choice, a vegetarian option and also a third option of jacket potato, available every day.

School meals are provided FREE of charge to children in Yr.R, 1 and 2 and also to those who qualify for a free school meal by way of income qualification. If you think you are entitled to income related free school meals, please collect an application form from the school office.

If your child has any special dietary requirements, please make an appointment to see the school cook, Mrs King, to discuss this.

Healthy Snacks & Packed Lunches

We would like to remind all parents that school policy is for children to bring in fresh fruit or vegetables only for break time snacks. This is provided free of charge to children in Class 1 and 2 under a government funded initiative. If you would like us to provide fruit for any child in Class 3, please contact the school office for more information.

A drink of milk at break time is also provided free for children under the age of 5. You can register with Cool Milk and pay for a daily drink of milk for your child, if you wish to carry on this facility after your child’s fifth birthday.

See separate information provided.

For the older children snacks, such as toasted muffins, are available at morning break time from the school kitchen. Please make a payment of £10 on Parentpay and Mr Pellow, the Kitchen Manager will run a tab for your child and advise you when your credit has run out and needs a top up.
