YEALM (Yr R + 1)

Welcome to Yealm Class

Teacher: Mrs Rose

1:1 Teaching Assistants: Miss McClements

We are a mixed Year R and 1 class.

Happy New Year! We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas holiday. This term we have a range of exciting learning opportunities to take part in. Please see below for the areas we will be covering in each subject this half term:

PE/Physical development: Gymnastics and Ball skills

Science/Understanding the world: Animals including humans

DT/Physical development/Expressive arts and design: Sewing

ICT/Understanding the world: Coding

Literacy: Newspaper reports and We're Going on a Bear Hunt

PSHE: Keeping myself safe

RE: Which stories and special and why?

At the end of each week, we will send home a weekly summary detailing specific skills and coverage for that week. Photos will be added throughout the week to tapestry.

The information below is to enable parents to support their child's learning at home if your child is isolating.

Please complete the relevant isolation activity below for your child's year group, one of the physical activities and a phonics activity. Your child can also read their school book to you. Year 1 children can play 5 minutes of numbots.

I will make contact with you to discuss further isolation work and this will be sent through Tapestry.

Please send photos of your child's learning or contact me through Tapestry if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

Mrs Rose

Foundation Isolation Work Day 1

Information for daily reading and phonics

In phonics this week we will learn:

Foundation/Y1 Red: Set 1 sounds

Y1 green/purple/pink: Set 2 sounds

You could also use the set 1 and set 2 sounds (attached) to create and read simple words together.

If you are supporting your child's learning at home (due to isolating), please select a worksheet from below which matches your child's phonics sounds for this week.
