The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:
- registered as eligible to receive Free School Meals
- been in care for six months or longer
- children of service personnel
at any point over the last six years.
All schools can decide how to allocate this additional funding to best ensure that each pupil thrives and makes excellent progress in their learning. We use a three year Pupil Premium strategy, as recommended by the Department for Education, which is reviewed annually.
The documents below explain our strategy, and how the funding is used and its impact on an annual basis.
